Affiliate Marketing Opportunity

Regardless of whether the economy is good or bad, people are always looking to make extra income and many would like to work from home. That's why many turn to an Affiliate Marketing Opportunity. Information on Affiliate Marketing abounds, and sometimes the real truth is hard to come by. As some one who makes their living online with affiliate marketing and online marketing, i have a pretty good idea of what works and what doesn't.

When new people ask me for help getting started with An Affiliate Marketing Opportunity, I always point them back to the basics. I'll tell you the same so you don't get sucked into all the "opportunities" of affiliate marketing.

First let me briefly tell you what it is. As an affiliate you work as a salesperson for a merchant. Except its all online, no phone calls, no face to face meetings. When you sell something you get paid by the merchant a certain % of sale. Depending on the product and the network it could be as high as 75% some programs even pay 100%. It all depends.

Here is the other side of the coin, you shoulder the risk of generating the sale. if it costs you nothing, the commission is all profit, it you pay for advertising, you have to subtract that from your commissions to get your net profit. When it comes down to it, Affiliate Marketing is all about Traffic and Conversion. You generate traffic, you send it to a merchant that can converts the traffic, and you make money. No traffic, no money. No conversions, no money.

Lots of traffic and lots of conversions, means lots of money. One of the best skills you can learn as an affiliate is how to generate traffic. It is a fundamental skill that pays. Big time.

One of the best how to's on affiliate marketing I found at Im-Uncovered It is a 3 hour audio and 95 page transcript. Check it out I got a lot from it.

Another resource I found helpful was an article explaining the Affiliate Marketing Opportunity what it really boils down to and how to see the big picture. Affiliate Marketing isn't as hard as everyone makes it out to be, but its not always such a slam dunk either.

Affiliate Marketing on the Internet - Learning How to Beat AdWords

Ok, so you have gotten your act together and found a great product that you want to push on clickbank, you set up your blog / squeeze page and head over to Google AdWords to launch a pay per click campaign, but whats this? your clicks are going to set you back between $1 and $2 a click? maybe some of your keywords are require a bid of over $10 for a product that pays $15 commission!... you have been stung by Google's quality score...what now? fight back and learn to beat AdWords at their own game.

I bet this has happened to a lot of you when starting out in Affiliate Marketing on the Internet, I know it certainly happened to me.

Once upon a time in the wild west, you could throw up any old trash and drive traffic to it via AdWords for minimum cost. The mighty Google then decided it was time to weed out some of the rubbish turning up in its search results in order to improve the quality of searches for the end user.

When you think about it makes sense, how may times have you been frustrated by a page full of irrelevant search results, Google's new method has helped return better quality results without doubt.

It has now become a crucial factor in Affiliate Marketing on the Internet, a factor which any Affiliate Marketer must become an expert in before launching a new campaign.

Basically the way it works is this, Google have implemented a system called a "quality Score" in relation to the keywords you use, the ad you write and most importantly the landing page the ad points to.

The higher the "quality Score" you achieve, the lower the cost per click of keywords will be and the more likely it is your Affiliate Marketing on the Internet campaign will be a success.

What exactly Google are looking for they keep closely guarded to avoid people simply filling that criteria.

The steps I have found to keep my Quality score up and beat AdWords are:

Ensure your landing page has 6 - 8 relevant pages (by relevant I mean good quality original content with your keywords embedded in them)
When writing your ads be sure to include keywords that are found in your content
Include the keyword once in the title and once in the content of the ad in question
Get a URL which includes the keyword in the address
Make sure you get your keyword density spot on
If possible update your page often (Google loves fresh, original content, which will in turn help you achieve a better page rank)
Get lots of good (high page rank) back links to drive your page rank up.

So if you are serious about Affiliate Marketing on the Internet you are going to have to learn how to beat AdWords and achieve a good quality score, the good news is whilst there is a lot of rubbish out there, there are some really good ones that will take you through the process step by step, The guide I recommend the most when looking at a good quality score can be found here Affiliate Marketing on the Internet Improve your quality score

Good luck in your online marketing endeavors!
